The three points takes the jets into fourth, a point behind Queensland in second – four points behind leaders Central Coast Mariners who take on Sydney on Saturday.
Adelaide United won 2-1 at Wellington Phoenix to stay third.
Paul Agostino put the Reds ahead in the ninth minute but Wellington’s Brazilian striker Daniel equalized from the spot midway through the second half.
With 11 minutes remaining, Lucas Pantellis scored the winner.
