With Kaka lifting the Golden Ball (pictured), the AC Milan midfielder and attacker may be justified in partaking of a bit of crowing.
After all, he bested the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi en route to winning the World Footballer of the Year award - no mean feat for the Brazilian.
Still, he has opted instead to say 'thank you' to the AC Milan fans who have supported him during what has been a largely memorable 2007.
"It's a special day, and it's so emotional for me and my family," said the 25 year old.
"We're all very excited, and I also want to share this joy with all the rossoneri fans.
"I express to them my most sincere gratitude, as without their help none of this would have been possible."
